The Company

The Company Metzger & Mendle GmbH was established in Fischach in 1922. Fischach is a small market town situated approximately 25 km to the west of Augsburg in the so-called "Stauden Naturpark Westliche Waelder", a region of natural scrubland and protected forests.  In its early days the company manufacturedhorn combs, then started to produce salad servers and egg spoons in synthetic resins. The range later expanded to include salt & pepper shakers and Perspex glass buttons.

In 1955 many of these household articles were decorated with hand-painted gentian and edelweiss motifs.  

Since 1970 Metzger & Mendle GmbH has belonged to the Group Concern Hoerauf & Kohler. In 1975 the range of office and school requisites was once again extended. This all began with the “Desk-Boy”, a moulded unit desk-tidy bought in 1976 by over one million customers.In the meantime, the office and school requisites are now produced by means of 18 injection moulding machines ranging from 45t to 550t. 

In 2002 the company again consolidated its range of products to around 150 office articles in top-quality self-service blister packs. Constant reviews and reworking of the range means that the range has once again been expanded such that there is now a product variety including more than 260 articles and supplied throughout the whole of Europe.

In its headquarters with a production area of some 15,000 m², Metzger & Mendle manufacturing utilizes the most advanced technological systems in synthetic materials processing. Services also include a screen printing and pad printing department together with internal assembly such as blister packs and all necessary packing facilities. 

Computer-assisted by the most up-to-date IT systems and backed by many years of professional experience, large orders of all kinds can be handled professionally.

In 2009 we expanded our range to include the production program “office requisites in synthetic material“ by Voss + Sohn GmbH and we are pleased to report that this takeover – with the support of our customers – was extremely successful. 

The corporate concern with foreign shareholders at present employs around 450 persons and can boast a total annual turnover of approx. 60 million Euros.
